Nap Time Rituals: What I Do While the House is Quiet

June 20, 2018

This post is sponsored by Mikawaya Mochi Ice Cream but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

What do you do while your kids are asleep?

It took me so long to get into the groove of whether or not to relax or use it as a time to get things done.

I’m still not completely consistent, but I’ve begun to recognize that the times I give myself to breathe and relax really help my productivity in the long run.

A little bit of self-love can do wonders.

Fox is a really solid napper, going down soundly for 3-4 hours each day. That said, he goes to bed much later than we would like, making naps the most ideal time for my husband and I to sneak quality time in with each other.

Lately those moments look a lot like watching our favorite shows and movies (Currently: Dateline, Queer Eye, or a good old fashioned scary movie), snacking, and enjoying one of our favorite hobbies: photography.

Today we opted to build a little fort for Fox when he wakes up, snag some photos, and enjoy a nice cool snack.

It gets crazy hot here in Buffalo during the summertime and we don’t have A/C, meaning that our eats have been of the cold variety to beat the heat.

Our go-to: My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream!

These snacks are so much fun to pop out of the freezer and eat. They’re mess-free and tasty! My favorite flavor is Green Tea (there will never be a better flavor IMO) and Tyler’s is Sweet Mango.

You can also find these My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream flavors at your local retailer: Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean, Mint Chocolate Chip, Ripe Strawberry, Cookies & Cream, and Double Chocolate.

We’ve even been known to bring a couple into the car to cool us down before the A/C kicks on 😉

What flavor would you reach for first?

Sarabeth, The February Fox
