Summer Traditions, Old and New - The February Fox
Here in New York we’ve endured nearly a week of 90+ degree days, leaving no question in anyone’s mind of the current season. With these blisteringly hot days, it served as a reminder to switch into my “summer mode” — everything from clothes and footwear to color schemes and decor. That’s right, as we pass from season to season, I like to swap out accent colors throughout our house to compliment the mood of the weather. It’s a great way to keep your design consistent, but constantly fresh and appropriate to the time of year. This year I’m embracing the warm colors, with shades of pink paired with yellow and pops of bright white and gold. Summer is also the perfect season for nostalgia. Childhood summers are engrained into all of us, and there’s no better way to create the perfect atmosphere during summer parties that to touch on some of those experiences. Growing up in Western New York, the summer months were filled with lawn games in the yard, drive-in movies, and ice cream cakes.
