Wand Wielding at Glenfinnan Viaduct

June 11, 2016

I woke up today and saw that several of my friends had shared a story that TV remote wands are now a part of the official Harry Potter merch, which reminded me to share a fun moment from my jaunt to Scotland: Glenfinnan Viaduct!

Glenfinnan Viaduct, the site of the absolutely stunning Jacobite steam train, spans over 1,000 ft., 100 ft. above the ground. If you haven’t guessed already, it’s better known as the Hogwarts Express!

There are two areas to view the viaduct – either directly below or from up high like we chose to do. The visitor’s center offers a very quick hike (about 5 minutes) up to this vista, just be sure to bring some cash for parking (and to use the bathroom oddly enough). They do sell wands and souvenirs in the store, although we picked this one up while we were at the Universal Studios London Harry Potter Experience.

Also, this is a steep climb with an awful fall opportunity and no railings, so wear non-slip shoes and do not let children out of your sight! Fox was not allowed out of our arms.Glenfinnan Viaduct - TheFebruaryFox.comGlenfinnan Viaduct - TheFebruaryFox.com Glenfinnan Viaduct - TheFebruaryFox.comSo tell me, are you Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw? I’m a proud Slytherin myself!Feb-Fox-SB-Signature
