4 Tips On Have a Relaxing Bath Time for Toddlers

November 29, 2017

This post is sponsored by Everyone™ but all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Lucky for us, Fox has always loved his baths.

His very first bath ended with us taking a quick picture of him laying in his baby bath, posed like Uncle Rico’s Glamour Shot in Napoleon Dynamite. He was simply in his element 😉

When he’s wound up and we can’t seem to find anything to slow him down for the night, we often turn to baths to help him pump the breaks and, so far, it’s worked 100% of the time.

As soon as he was able to sit on his own in the bathtub, the boredom factor crept in.

He would stay in the tub until he was wrinkled as a raisin and we have a no cell phone policy during bath time, so I found it hard to sit still for an hour or so doing nothing.

Now I use this hour as a time for decompressing and bonding with my littlest love once I figured out a few ways to make it enjoyable for both of us.

Here are my suggestions:

Make a Cuppa

Before you head to the bathtub, make a hot cup of tea or cocoa as a relaxing little indulgence that won’t distract you while baby plays. I tend to drink slowly, so I know that bath time is over when polishing off the last sip.

Lots of Toys

Fox’s favorite toys tend to be those that aren’t meant for play but still work just as well for entertainment purposes. Think cups and bowls, anything to pour water in and out of. When he does use toys, he’s a big fan of little boats and magnetic fishing sets.

Keep It Cozy

Add a floor cushion or ottoman to the bathroom during bath time so that you aren’t sitting on a cold, hard floor. Get in your jammies and a fuzzy robe for ultimate comfort. Keep a hooded towel on the sidelines for your kiddo once they’re ready to jump out.

Utilize Aromatherapy

We picked up a new set of shampoo and conditioners from Walmart called Everyone™ that uses sugars, organic oils, and essential oils to clean hair with an aromatic, refreshing scent. My mom recently helped to give Fox a bath and held down the fort momentarily while I changed a wet shirt that got splashed and when I walked back into the bathroom the scent was *amazing* — I was immediately enveloped by peppermint. This product is affordable, accessible, and perfect for the entire family.

Also good to note, these shower and bath items are made by EO Products, where each product is researched, developed, formulated, and bottled in a zero waste, certified organic, cruelty free manufacturing facility here in California.

What is your bath time routine?
