Brunching and Egg Hunting on Easter Weekend

April 23, 2019

When I was a kid, my family made a big deal of Easter egg hunts. We didn’t head out to public places for them, they were always done in the house with the help of a lot of crafty clues that lead me to my Easter basket.

I’ve been carrying on the tradition and this year was no exception!

I came up with clues during naptime, bought a dozen plastic eggs ($6 from Target for toy-filled!), and went store-to-store finding the perfect Easter basket for both kids. Tyler designed and printed the clues and note.

In the morning, Fox and Charlie found a note written to them from the Easter Bunny with scraps of carrots and some jelly beans in the potty left by the stealthy little rabbit alongside their first hint.

It was a huge success and each boy made out like a bandit — even if 6-week-old Charlie’s basket mostly consisted of binkies and diaper cream.

I scooped up hosting duties for a few holidays when we moved back into town and Easter Sunday is one of them.

My friends at Cottonwood Home were kind enough to send me all of the decorations for our pretty pink, peach, white, and tan table as well as the banners you see on the wall. Everything comes in a box ready to go so I didn’t have to run around town with a newborn to find matching party decor. Shop the spring collection here.

We started with a charcuterie spread and 1-minute lentil dip.

For our main course, Tyler cooked a spiral ham and yeast rolls while I spearheaded a breakfast casserole, corn, lemon garlic asparagus, rosemary potatoes, and a salad. We cleared the used plates and brought in the food!

We had such a beautiful day with family and I hope you did too.

Happy Easter!
