When our family set out for Cardiff to visit the Doctor Who Experience, I have to admit that I had no idea what we were in for. I’d seen the photos online, some video, but nothing prepared me for what was to come. We expected a museum of sorts filled with props and information about each Doctor but got much, much more!
We were given a ticket upon entrance and a time to enter. We were instructed that no cameras are allowed in this portion, which is why we were totally surprised by what was to come! Not sure of what we were waiting for, we saw the doors open and peeked inside. Our guide was in a robe inside joined by an interactive video of Peter Capaldi who warns of a new enemy that you’ll have to escape. The word “Experience” started to make a lot more sense — we would be controlling the TARDIS, keeping intense eye contact with the Weeping Angels, and in possession of Time Crystals (a wearable piece of technology that glows and vibrates).
My favorite part of all this? Fox was an absolute dream. I give 100% of the credit to the creators of the Doctor Who Experience for making such an awesome sensory encounter for all ages. The flashing lights, sounds, and even movements really got Fox giggling and made our jobs as parents easy. There was no having to wrangle or soothe, just effortless family fun!
