On Thursday, Tyler surprised me with a trip to Malibu to go one a wine safari (as cool as it sounds) for my 30th birthday.
Basically, you hop aboard a custom safari truck while getting a tour of an insanely cool private ranch where you can taste 3 reds and 3 whites, feed a large variety of adorable animals, and — most importantly — meet Stanley the Giraffe. He’s a movie star, but still down to earth no matter where his career (or very long neck) takes him. Catch him in Water for Elephants and Hangover 3 to name a couple.
I also want to mention that each animal has a really funny name mostly tied back to different celebrities like the llamas, appropriately named Kendrick Llamá and Barack and Michelle Ollama.
Our guides were great, both hilarious and informative, and I would highly suggest the trip out there if you’re local or planning a visit.
As soon as we sat down for lunch I saw a note on the app we use to communicate with Fox’s school that said he was crying, so we called to check in and found out the poor kiddo was sick. We cut our celebrations short, picked him up, and tucked him into bed to cuddle the rest of the night, and skipped Friday’s events to keep him home from school and provide a little extra TLC.
I was happy to be with my baby 🙂
Oh, and if you’re wondering how I feel about 30, I was good with it until I realized I’d never be in my 20’s again which made me a bit sad. But so far 30 is off to a great start and I’m excited to see what this decade brings.
