Tomorrow we head back to the West Coast after a 3-week long stay in Buffalo with family.
I don’t know about you, but if I had house guests for 21 days, I’d literally be tearing my hair out of my head ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Add a toddler to the equation and my family are starting to look like saints.
A little bit of effort of the part of any guest is helpful to keeping things on the up and up and avoiding butting heads over sharing a space.
Don’t Wear a Path
Don’t be that person and trash the house. Every night before we go to bed, we put the toys back in their respective bins and tiny up the living space. I’ve learned that having house guests who spread their stuff out everywhere is really overwhelming, so I do my best to be as contained as possible.
Lend a Hand
When my mom heads off to work in the morning, I brew myself a cuppa and start unloading her dishwasher. With three more people than usual making dishes around the house, I think it’s the least I can do to make sure the dishes are done and countertops wiped down.
Replenish What You Use
If your family is like mine and has the house stocked upon your arrival, take a moment to replenish some of what you used on your way out. Since we didn’t rent a car this time around, I went on Amazon and ordered a bunch of essentials like Cottonelle toilet paper, Viva paper towels, and Kleenex tissues to help defray the cost of our stay here that should last my family awhile. (This saved us a couple times this trip — ex. diaperless and carless.)
When we’re home, paper products are some of my favorite items to order from Amazon simply because of the convenience of avoiding the bulky packs to fit in the cart then car and into the house. We’ll be stocking up when we get back home to be ready for holiday guests and visitors.
You also have the option of utilizing Amazon’s Subscribe & Save service where you’ll receive up to 15% off for 5 items or more. Regardless, you’ll still be saving at least $8 buying these products in bulk from Amazon.
