3 Pieces to Add to Your Fall + Winter Wardrobe

October 28, 2019

This post is sponsored by Cuddl Duds at Kohl's. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I remember rolling up in my light tennis shoes, thin leggings, and t-shirt fresh from California as we moved back to Buffalo. I threw off my seatbelt and jumped out of the car straight into snow — brrr!

The next morning as I dug through bins of clothing, I promptly realized I had almost no cold weather clothing in the middle of a winter wonderland. It was overwhelming thinking about the cost of creating a brand new wardrobe for myself and two other family members. I had to be tactful about the types of items I was purchasing and take price, warmth, and ability to mix and match into consideration.

This year I’m adding to the mix with three pieces from Cuddl Duds at Kohl’s that make layering easy as I prepare for the temperatures to dip. After all, the forecast is calling for snow this week!

Softwear with Stretch Long Sleeve V-Neck

If you buy any of the three listed here, this is the one. This material is like butter! It’s thin but still keeps your warmth in and works for both layering and on its own. It was laundry day and I had to wear a black bra under this ivory shirt but it’s undetectable! This shirt comes in a dozen colors so I’ll be stocking up this holiday season for sure, as well as on the rest of the Softwear line.

Thermal Legging

I own two pairs of these comfy leggings: one in a size medium to wear under clothing and another in a large (these Navy Buffalo Check babies that are pictured) to wear on their own. They aren’t sheer and the wind doesn’t cut through them, even on crisp days when the wind is going strong.

Ultra Cozy Cowl Tunic

This tunic is the warmest of all three pieces. I’m the type of person who is always cold — like wearing a sweater inside on a hot summer day without a/c kind of cold. When I wear this tunic inside without the heat on, I sometimes have to remove a layer because of just how warm it keeps me! This is ideal for sitting outside during football games (we’re BIG tailgaters here in Buffalo if you haven’t heard!) or wearing under a coat to stroll the sidewalks and check out all the beautiful lights. Bonus points if you’re holding a hot cup of cocoa!

If you want to #LiveInLayers this season, make sure to visit Kohl’s in-store or online through Nov. 6th, 2019 for 30% off your Cuddl Duds warmwear for her, no code needed!

Yes, winter in Buffalo can be harsh sometimes. I usually keep at least 3 thick jackets on rotation, namely Marty Supreme Jacket, Red Leather Jacket, and Black Cotton Jacket, styling them with a T-shirt and Jeans.

Layering is definitely key for cold weather. I also rely on thermal leggings and cozy tunics. When planning my wardrobe, I sometimes use a free online calculator to estimate costs and compare prices. It helps me stay on budget while getting the essentials.
