Always Be Yourself (+ free printable!)

March 15, 2016

When Tyler and I decided we were ready to start trying for a baby a couple years ago, we had a talk I’d been dreading: parenting strategy.

We had already experienced growing pains as a young couple trying to blend our two lives into one, and  I wasn’t looking forward to introducing a new major topic to the table. We are polar opposites, so I naturally assumed that we would have very different parenting styles.

To my surprise, we agreed that the foundation of our parenting strategy would focus on teaching our future child to always be yourself. And now that Fox is here we stand by that mantra.

Fox has more personality than I know what to do with. He’s hilarious, always making us laugh doing something so witty and intentional. We’re always blown away that he’s so aware of humor. He’s overwhelmingly independent, so we generally let him go about his day making his own decisions (so long as it doesn’t involve crayons and a wall!).

So whether Fox becomes a painter or a chef, astrophysicist or brain surgeon, we will support him no matter what. And it’s my job as his mama to let him know that each and every day. For now, we’ll stick with wearing a cape while we chase around his beloved Dee-Dee.

In order to keep my #MothersPromise a loud and clear theme in our home, my husband created an Always Be Yourself print. Now we will always have a reminder! Here’s a free copy for you to download and include in your home.

Always Be Yourself (+ free printable!) - TheFebruaryFox.comThank you to Pampers for partnering with me today to share my #MothersPromise! Fox is wearing his Pampers Premium Care diapers (which I find to be the best care for his delicate skin). Aside from roughly 10 packs of diapers, Fox has always been a Pampers baby, but this is the first time we tried the Premium Care kind. I got this box from Walmart after learning they’re hypoallergenic, breathable, and have the wetness indicator (I can’t get him to stay still to unstrap and check, so the blue stripe makes it a lot easier – haha).

So so so cute! I loved the little video. Fox is clearly comfortable in his own skin and its obvious how happy he is! Your doing a great job with him. Kudos to both of you!
