Quick + Kid-Friendly Lent Dinner with Conagra

This post is sponsored by Conagra, but all opinions are my own.

Do you observe Lent?

With Lent underway early this year, I’ve been looking for quick and easy meatless solutions to feed my kids each Friday.

Making meals for a two and six-year-old isn’t always for the faint of heart, but I’ve managed to discover several items we can all agree on!

My first step was heading to Walmart for meal inspiration.

Our family go-to is usually fish, and since kids lean towards bite-sized finger foods I went straight for the fish sticks!

Van de Kamp’s Fish Sticks come in a 44-count box and are made with 100% wild-caught fish. The golden breading is made with crunchy bread crumbs that crisp up perfectly in the oven! Serve on their own or in a fish taco recipe of your choosing (my favorite way to enjoy!), with tartar sauce or Hunt’s Classic Tomato Ketchup. There are 10 grams of protein per serving and they’re a great source of omega-3s, so kids won’t miss out on their important daily nutrients.

Plus, I can stock up since they’re in Walmart’s frozen food aisle!

My kids go through ketchup like it’s the air they breathe.

Our favorite ketchup is Hunt’s Classic Tomato Ketchup, which we buy in the 20 oz squeeze bottle. There are no preservatives and it’s such a rich flavor from vine-ripened tomatoes and seasonings, it elevates every meal! I mean, what can’t you put ketchup on? We love to add it to eggs, french fries, burgers, and more. I’m certain that if Fox had to choose an item to bring with him to a desert island, it would be ketchup!

I got lucky with two kids that love their fruits and veggies, so Birds Eye Steamfresh Broccoli Cuts have been making a major appearance at our dinner table. Did you know that this brand of broccoli is flash-frozen in order to preserve the fresh flavor? There are no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives and it’s steamable in the microwave or on the stove, making this quick to the table. I like to melt cheese on the broccoli and top with breadcrumbs or paprika!

This meal took under 15 minutes to get on the table and made Lent meal planning a breeze.
