I hate to admit it, but Fox had never really slept in his bed until recently.
I’d tried just about everything from Dockatot shifting, “big boy” bed with his original crib mattress, new bedding, new stuffed animals, a fancy nightlight, and more. Getting myself a king-sized mattress really helped solve the space issue in bed for awhile, but Fox is getting bigger and the extra room is closing in on me.
After really focusing on the issue at hand, I realized there was a good chance all the toys in his room were distracting him from sleep and it was time to move them. This created a major shift in our rooms, one of the switches being turning our family room into a playroom so that Fox could have a bedroom mostly dedicated to sleep.
We went with a schoolhouse theme since he’s very interested in learning all of the things lately!
Besides a bed and dressers, I also added a desk area for him to do art projects. Fox came with me on all of the shopping trips to complete his room. He got to choose all the items and colors — except I nixed a thrift store statue of a kid eating string cheese because that’s just weird.
Take a peek at all the details in his room!
Most items are listed at the bottom of the post if you have questions on where to buy.
I hope you had as much fun seeing all of the details in Fox’s room!
