I have to admit, I have a minor obsession with reality competition television shows. Specifically those which involve singing. That’s why I always find myself counting down the days to the premiere of each new season of The Voice on NBC. I find joy in the constant drama, tension and especially that cheeky commentary between each chair turn.
This season of The Voice is lining up to be one of the most enjoyable and most brutal in recent history. As of this writing, there are 11 contestants remaining, with only three weeks of competition. What that boils down to is a mass elimination in an upcoming week.
And while I’m on the topic of admitting my quirky obsessions, I have to explain that while I reside in extremely sunny San Diego, I yearn for the brisk air and white Christmases of my childhood in New York. I get a consolation each time I see the forecast show a low temperature in the 40s, contrasted to a stream of regular 85 degree days. I take every chance I can get to let the temperature drop in our home, lay out blankets, brew up some hot cocoa (with marshmallows, of course), and flip on my favorite show.
But this holiday season, I have even more options to enjoy the cooler weather while cheering for Team Blake or Team Adam. With NBC’s new TVEverywhere platform, I can watch every episode on demand from my laptop, anywhere I want (even outside).
Because of my busy schedule, I rarely watch shows live anymore. With NBC’s TVEverywhere, I am able to watch full episodes the day after they air, and even go back to catch episodes I may have missed. The convenience of having full seasons at my fingertips with a warm blanked an mug of hot cocoa by my side is exactly what I look forward to moving into the holiday season.
