If you’re coming on over from my friend Lindsay’s blog, Aratari at Home, welcome! Wasn’t her tablescape inspiring?
If you’re not, welcome to your first stop on the Home Sweet Valentine Blog Hop! We have six ladies sharing their Valentine’s decor inspo today, so keep on reading for information on how to follow along.
My eldest son, Fox, has a birthday on February 7th each year, so I usually let decorating for Valentine’s Day fall at the wayside. I always felt like it would be a pain to decorate around the 1st of the month, take everything down for party decorations, and then do it all over again for the 14th. This year I decided to try it out and I’m so glad I did.
Valentine’s decor really boosts the mood in any room!
Of course when I went shopping for a few items to fill in the blanks of what I already own, I could not choose between a blush or red theme. So I went with both!

I love that the red transitions easy from Christmas decor, whereas the blush is the perfect segue for a spring look.
Let’s Start in the Dining Room

One of the things I love about my dining room is that it’s completely clean slate.
I have yet to find a color combo that hasn’t worked in there!
When we first bought the table we purchased black chairs, but since the table is so big for a smaller room, I felt it looked better to open the space with benches. It left the focus on the tablescape instead of the busy furniture around it.
Do you prefer to do a brand new decor look each season or use the same pieces with new decor highlights?
I love using a typical base of chargers, plates, napkins rings and then swap out runners, linen napkins, and mostly vintage finds. Sticking with a formula helps keep the cost down and I truly don’t think it dulls the shine of each new design.
Next up is the living room and breakfast nook.
So how are you feeling about the blush? Is it something you’d try in your own space?
Let me know in the comments below!
