I’m writing this post with sweaty palms – this is big one!
I spent the past couple days in Los Angeles to attend the #CelebrateOutdoors event put on by World Market at a private beach house in Santa Monica. The ladies who put together this incredible event seriously know how to party! I brought my friend Becca and as soon as we entered the house we were in complete heaven!
The house was decorated impeccably with World Market furniture and decor (all donated to Habitat for Humanity after the event). We stopped at the step and repeat before checking out the bites of food from around the world and beelining it for the bar… rosé all day.
I also want to take a moment to gush about these popsicles. The Honeydew Mint flavor was so very refreshing in the perfect Santa Monica weather! My personal highlight was the performance by the band Heffron Drive. Side note: for those of you who don’t know, I was a nanny for some time. It seemed like the show Big Time Rush was a staple on the TV, so I quickly chose a favorite member to “eyeball” (because what else do you do when you’re subjected to kids television for that long?!) and he happens to be a part of this band.
Here’s Kendall Schmidt and Dustin Belt performing an acoustic set. My camera doesn’t have a zoom, so you can imagine my excitement here 😉
I saw a few more celebrities in the crowd, including lifestyle expert Brandi Milloy and Lesley Nicol (aka Mrs. Patmore from Downton Abbey)!
The backside of the beach house, right on Santa Monica Beach. A few other fun things at the event: DIY terrariums (I chose a copper geometric type. The small is actually really large, so you get a lot of bang for your buck!), photo booth with props, sand pit for kiddos, and dessert with actual sparkles on it. The glitter needed a mention.
Afterwards we hung on the beach for a bit because it was too pretty to pass up!
So now that we talked about what a good time Becca and I had at the World Market event, it’s time for me to spill some big news.
We’re moving to Los Angeles!
This has always been a dream of mine. One that I’ve tearfully shared with Tyler over the years, thinking it would never come to fruition. I often felt like I missed the boat, that the window had been closed on that opportunity. However, I spent Friday night perusing the streets of Hollywood, checking out our new neighborhood that we’ll be moving into in just two weeks!
If any of you are located in LA, please let’s be “real life” friends!
