Planting Our Roots: Exploring Homebuying Options

June 17, 2019

This post is sponsored by Northwest Bank. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When we moved back to Buffalo we decided to look into renting rather than owning a home.

Tyler is not from the area and I wanted to make sure he was happy in whatever neighborhood we ended up in. Now that we know without a doubt that we’re happy in our location, we decided to look into buying our own home.

Ultimately this choice stemmed from the realization that Fox starts Kindergarten next year.

In a perfect world, my kids would be in the same district for the entirety of their schooling. I district-hopped multiple times growing up and, even though it helped me to make friends all over Buffalo, I missed the deep friendships that my peers developed over the years from those first early years through graduation.

From there we began exploring our mortgage loan options through Northwest Bank.

Since we’re happy with our exact location and home size, we have a really good idea of what we’re looking for and the price tag, but we needed help exploring our mortgage loan options. We found Northwest Bank’s offerings easy to navigate, which helped to simplify the process.

Northwest Bank has a wide range of loan possibilities whether you’re a first time home buyer like us or looking to use the equity from your current home to help with a down payment and closing costs. You may also find yourself falling into a more specific loan category such as being a veteran or physician. Perhaps you live in a rural area or desire a new-build. You may need a little more help than a conventional loan or maybe you’re looking to take out a jumbo-sized loan over $484,250.

There are so many options to choose from!

If you’re struggling to figure out which category you fall under, fear not because Northwest Bank’s dedicated customer advocates will be with you from start to finish. They’re accessible, communicative, and follow your application through the process so you don’t spend any time worrying.

I’m eager to see what the future holds and where we wind up, but whatever happens I know I’ll have peace of mind being in the careful hands of professionals who have my best interest at heart!

Do you own your own home?
