Cuddles, Teething, and the Beach

February 16, 2016

This morning my baby slept beside me for a full 1.5 hours. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but this meant everything to me. Since Fox was about two weeks old he has refused every cuddle and only wants to go to sleep on his own. It’s a blessing that he wants to be placed in his crib with the door immediately shut to go to bed, but sometimes this mama feels robbed not being able to hear his sweet little sighs and see his peaceful sleepy face.

I suspected he was teething after he acted fussier than usual the past couple days and noticed a new bottle tooth coming in, but it wasn’t until this morning that I saw another tooth is through up top – and it’s a molar.

So now my little independent boy is falling asleep on his papas lap, on his mamas pillow, and demanding to lay on our chests to watch a little bit of TV for comfort and even though I feel so bad that he’s hurting, I’m really relishing in all of the snuggles.

Here are some photos from our trip to the beach last week, which – believe it or not – was Fox’s first time touching the sand and putting his feet in the ocean. It only took one year of living in San Diego before we got this far 😉
