How I Relax + Current Playlist

May 13, 2016

If you follow me on Snapchat you may have noticed that I’ve been making more of an effort to give myself some “me time” lately. I’m not always the best about stopping to nourish my mind to de-stress, but with some major changes underway in the McElhaney household (stay tuned for more info on that in the coming days!) I’ve felt it more necessary than ever to decompress.

Relax - TheFebruaryFox.comRelax - TheFebruaryFox.comHonestly, this isn’t an easy assignment for myself! I was telling my husband earlier that I can’t even relax when I’m getting a manicure because I feel unappreciative to the person performing the service if I’m not totally tuned in. But I have found one way to relax: put on my over-ear headphones, crank up the music, and soak in the tub.

I recently came upon a brand of bath crystals that I’m head over heels for called Relax Spa & Bath. Tyler first tried them after complaining that his knee had been aching. He’s not a whiner, so it must have really been bothering him. I told him to take a bath and use some Muscle Therapy crystals, a hot n’ icy remedy that helped to alleviate his discomfort by morning.

Relax - TheFebruaryFox.comYou can tell by the photo which one I took a clear liking to – Strawberries & Champagne is completely gone. Some of the other aromas I tried included Mimosa, Eucalyptus Mint, Detox Therapy, and De-Stress Therapy.

Pair one of those with this playlist and I’m set:

Relax Playlist
  1. Hurricane – Halsey
  2. She’s American – The 1975
  3. Stand Back – Stevie Nicks
  4. Pachuca Sunrise – Minus The Bear
  5. Saint Jerome – Coconut Records
  6. When We First Met – Hellogoodbye
  7. Cecilia and The Satellite – Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness
  8. Love, Love, Love – As Tall As Lions
  9. The Heart Wants What It Wants – Selena Gomez
  10. Bloodbuzz Ohio – The National

Oh, and when you’re done relaxing, there’s also an Energy Therapy option that I sprinkle on the floor of my shower in the morning to wake me up. These products are all-natural and contain Epsom & Dead Sea Salts, vitamins, minerals, essential oils, and a moisturizing infusion. If you’re interested in trying out some of these aromatherapy products for yourself, click here.

What’s your favorite way to decompress? Is there a certain scent or song that help you to relax?
