Recently I used cranberries as decoration in an ice bath for drinks.
Well I decided to repurpose them into cranberry sauce!
For the past few years I’ve jarred my own, but something was missing. It’s such a polarizing dish and I think a lot of people are turned off by the bitter taste.
This year I added a couple spices to the mix and it’s jaw-dropping good!
We eat this on its own and with cheese, but I’ve recently found a dessert recipe for the leftovers that is so freaking good! I’ll share soon, but in the meantime, here’s this simple cranberry sauce recipe.
Spiced Cranberry Sauce
- 1 bag cranberries
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 c orange juice
- 2/3 c sugar
- 1/2 c water
- Few shakes of salt
Stir together in small saucepan over medium heat until boiling (about 15 minutes). Pour in Mason jar to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate.
