Our little boy went from crawling to sprinting quite literally overnight. He loves to be outside and especially loves to be independent. We can’t keep him sitting still for more than a couple minutes (except at bedtime), which makes taking trips or venturing outside that much more difficult. He’s very particular about his strollers specifically. So when I was able to give the Newell Rubbermaid Baby Jogger ® SummitTM X3 stroller a spin, I was cognizant that switching it up was a bit of a gamble.

Disneyland with Baby Jogger - TheFebruaryFox.comThe stroller has enormous wheels, perfect for a smooth ride on any terrain, and the seat is able to sit up, but also recline when it’s nap time.

Disneyland with Baby Jogger - TheFebruaryFox.comWe took a day to fully break in theBaby Jogger ® SummitTM X3 stroller by taking it to the “happiest place on earth” and evaluating the pros and cons. One thing to note is that the stroller is able to  easily fold up extremely small (smaller than we thought was possible with this type of active stroller).

Disneyland with Baby Jogger - TheFebruaryFox.comBaby Jogger ® SummitTM X3 took everything we could throw at it and passed with flying colors. While we didn’t do any *actual* jogging, the stroller has a convenient front wheel lock that allows for safe running with the stroller. To our surprise, we did use the hand brake more than we thought we would. It was a convenient little tool that allows the stroller to lock in place, without having to set the wheel brakes one by one.

Disneyland with Baby Jogger - TheFebruaryFox.comFox’s favorite part was the sun cover. Not only is it the largest on any stroller we’ve had, the rear-facing “peekaboo” window provided hours of excitement once he realized he could interact with us while riding to Tomorrowland.

While he enjoyed the view, I was all about the storage space under the seat. We fit sweatshirts for the whole family, a blanket, a large duffel bag, a few Disneyland souvenirs, and I hung my purse off the back easily.

Disneyland with Baby Jogger - TheFebruaryFox.com TheBaby Jogger ® SummitTM X3 stood up to every test, and it even looks cool. Trying to remain active with a little guy can be difficult, but with this amazing new stroller, I didn’t have to worry once about his safety or comfort while out and about.

Fox has been using this stroller for a couple months now and I want to note how well it’s held up in all different terrains here in Southern California. We’ve hiked in mountains, walked the beach, taken trips to the grocery store, and strolled the Walk of Fame here in Hollywood. After all, SoCal is one of the only places in the States where you can go surfing and snowboarding all in the same day!

Check out some shots from our family adventure to Disneyland, and be sure to look for the brand new Baby Jogger ® SummitTM X3 at your local Babies’R’Us (where you’ll get 20% until June 30, 2016); you won’t be disappointed.

Disneyland with Baby Jogger - TheFebruaryFox.com I also wanted to share a cute little DIY I made recently: an octopus stroller toy. I can’t stress how easy this is!Octopus Stroller Toy - TheFebruaryFox.com

Here’s what you’ll need:

Octopus Stroller Toy - TheFebruaryFox.com

  • Tube socks
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue
  • Fabric Velcro
  • Twine/ribbon/thread (anything goes!)
  • Elastic
  • Googly eyes

Octopus Stroller Toy - TheFebruaryFox.com

  1. Roll up one sock.
  2. Stuff unused sock with rolled up sock.
  3. Tie off with twine. Do NOT cut remaining.
  4. Cut fabric strips from bottom of the sock until 1/2-1 inch away from twine tie. Pull taut.
  5. Tie piece of elastic (of your desired length) onto remaining twine.
  6. Add fabric Velcro to elastic.
  7. Use fabric glue to affix googly eyes. You can also use felt, embroidery floss, or fabric pen.

Note: the socks I used were very long. For safety purposes, I cut the ends off to a shorter length so baby can’t harm himself.

What type of active activities do you enjoy? Do you or your family have any tips for new parents looking for ways to stay active with a little one running around?

Kind of a random question but what brand is your purse? I see it in a lot of your photos and I’m pretty much in love with it lol

It’s my absolutely favorite, I can’t even explain. I have it in two colors and I want more, although I’m pretty sure they’re discontinuing it 🙁 🙁 🙁 It’s the Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Natasha Crossbody! It looks normal sized but it fits all my stuff AND Fox’s and there’s a zip pocket that’s so nice for traveling — you can hide your passport, ID, etc. and no one can reach in and take.

I cannot wait to bring my daughter to Disneyland sometime!! I’ve been once, and it’s beautiful (We’re East Coast people, so we visit Disney World at least once a year) This stroller is PERFECT for Disney trips! I love it and I love your octopus stroller toy! Adorable! #client

    Sarabeth,
You should not be using glue on eyes, too easy for a little one to get off and choke on. I realize they are in sight while in the stroller but it only takes a second. Please advise your readers to draw on eyes instead.
