The long weekend is wrapping up in my house with a busy Sunday, but I want to drop a quick note before it ends.
We did Thanksgiving a bit different this year since we stayed in by ourselves as a trio. I cooked my first full Thanksgiving meal: a turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, and yeast rolls. I bought the pie pre-made – so sue me 😉
Fox got his first cold (how cute!) the day before Thanksgiving and Tyler and I followed suit the next day. I crossed my fingers that I could at least taste the food and got my wish.
Growing up it was always the family tradition to wake up and watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and I want that for Fox starting this year (his first Thanksgiving)!
I have to admit that we were about three minutes into the parade when I started blubbering and when Tyler asked if I was happy or sad I said I didn’t know – haha. At first I thought I didn’t feel good, but then I realized I was feeling so emotional watching Fox fixated on the parade like I had done my entire childhood.
But it wasn’t until Santa arrived that I really lost it! Fox has never seen Santa before and when we pointed him out he smiled big at the TV as if he knew exactly what he stands for.
And, my crazy kid ate a huge plate of Thanksgiving food (and about four more plates of leftovers the next day).
When Thanksgiving was just about over, we all laid down for cuddles. Fox chose a comfy spot on Peter.
Hope you and yours had a beautiful holiday!

On Thanksgiving day, we enjoyed making it. Fox enjoyed a lot I have read from this post.
